‘Honeymoney’ made easy

COUPLES in fear of too many toasters, towels or teapots can now include the gift of currency for their honeymoon in their wedding gift list.

Leading foreign currency provider, ICE (International Currency Exchange) has launched the UK’s first currency gift service.

Joanna Williams, head of marketing for ICE, said: “Like Will and Kate, most couples today have lived together before tying the knot and will have all the basics. Memories really do last longer than material gifts and this service makes it easy to gift travel money to help make the wedding or honeymoon an experience to remember forever.”

To register couples need to log onto the ICE website or call 01455 897811. ICE will then create a dedicated page that’s password protected, incorporating the text and photographs of the couple’s choice. Once this is completed, ICE confirms the link to pass on to friends and family so they can make currency cash contributions. There are no set-up fee, commissions or delivery fees.

Family and friends can simply visit the secure web page for the couple and choose the amount in sterling they wish to give, leaving a message. There is a small transaction fee of 79p per contribution.

The couple can then choose which currencies they would like the money converted into, safe in the knowedge that the rates provided by ICE are some of the most competitive in the market.

Then money can be exchanged into a combination of local currency, travellers cheques or the funds can be uploaded to the ICE Travellers Cashcard in sterling, dollars or euros. The currency is delivered securely on a chosen date with a description and messages from everyone who contributed.

The ICE Currency Gift Service also enables stag and hen parties taking place overseas to ‘pool’ their spending money into one pot.
