NOT every bride can afford to splash out hundreds of pounds on a dress.

Many couples are now opting to pay for their own wedding day rather than relying on the tradition of the father of the bride paying for the event, which means cutbacks may have to be made.

But having a smaller budget doesn’t mean you have to compromise on style and quality when it comes to your dress says Diane of Bridal Magic.

Diane launched the wedding dress hire business in 2009 after falling in love with many gowns while her daughter was looking for her own dress.

“I thought they were so nice that I’d buy dresses along the way and I thought about hiring them out,” she said.

Diane has over 20 gowns in stock range from a UK size 10 to 24 with small alterations able to be accommodated for the perfect fit.

There are also more than 20 veils in various colours and lengths to choose from, brand new tiaras, diamante and pearl jewellery and other accessories.

Brands stocked include Maggie Sottero as well as custom-made gowns.

At £200 per hire, not per day, Bridal Magic gives you the flexibility to pick up your dress a couple of days before the wedding and to drop off up to a day or two after.

Diane said: “From what I’ve been hearing, most dresses are £600 to £1,000 for one day. Then it goes up in the attic. Men hire suits so why can’t women hire a wedding dress?”
