The glimmering turquoise seas and lush gardens at Galley Bay create a natural setting that’s perfect for your dream honeymoon.

Galley Bay has a three-quarter mile white sandy beach where you can recline in the shade of a palm tree, soak-up the sun or enjoy a refreshing swim and complimentary non-motorized watersports. The bay is voted as one of the world’s best places to stay and this outstanding resort is a favourite with honeymooners.

The hotel: Galley Bay

This hotel is only a 20 minute transfer from the airport and is set in 40 acres of lush tropical gardens against the seashore.

There are three open-air restaurants and lounges offering great evening entertainment, as well as a swimming pool, tennis courts, a fitness centre and a new spa and salon to enjoy.

Pricing is all-inclusive.

The accommodation:

Most of the accommodation is right next to the beach, with 98 air-conditioned rooms available.

Décor is stylish and understated but with all of the mod-cons, from wireless internet access and wall-mounted flat screen TVs, to Ipod alarm clocks.

All rooms come with either a terrace or balcony and have spacious bathroom suites which boast a corner tub, double skinks and luxury toiletries.

Or you could opt for a Gauguin cottage. These Tahitian-style thatched-roof mini cottages are set in privacy in the lagoon area and have their own concealed patio with a plunge pool.

The food:

Dine outside at Sea Grape, where there is a weekly Caribbean barbecue with live steel drum music.

Gauguin offers the opportunity to dine by candlelight in a seafront cabana, with a menu inspired by the West Indies, Europe and the Pacific Rim.

And Ismays showcases local flavours.

Places to visit and things to do: Scuba diving and snorkelling, sail around the uninhabited island of Redonda, walk, enjoy duty-free shopping at Heritage Quay.

The price: Prices start from £1,855 per person for seven nights in low season to £2,445 per person in high season all inclusive of flights from London Gatwick.
