IF YOU’RE searching for wedding jewellery that’s personal, unique and feminine, speak to designer Gemma Clarke.

Gemma, who lives in Suffolk, set-up her own jewellery design business four years ago and has a broad collection of pieces to choose from as well as the option to make bespoke pieces, or even remodel an existing piece of jewellery.

Gemma said:“I’ve worked for various jewellers over the years before setting-up on my own. I’ve always had a passion for art and once I gained a work placement and realised you could make jewellery for a living that’s when I realised that’s what I wanted to do.”

As well as selling her pieces online and into independent shops across the country with collections based on leaves, seeds and pearls, Gemma undertakes private commissions.

“I tend to use nature as inspiration,” she said. “Even going back to my early work you can see that I have used the countryside.”

“Bespoke clients simply have to get in touch with me to make an appointment and I will go and visit them. I bring the materials such as diamonds or pearls to show them, and design something with them, taking them through the process.”

Another facet to Gemma’s business is jewellery remodelling. “Sometimes people get a ring passed down through the family. Remodelling is a way to change the piece and make it more contemporary. I can redesign the piece, add stones and remake it for them. Lots of people have jewellery sitting in a drawer that they wouldn’t wear – this is a way to make the most of it.”
