FANCY spending your hen day up to your elbows in chocolate?

If so, give Artistry in Cocoa a call and book yourself and your hens a tasty day of fun and food.

Artistry in Cocoa started life as a fundraiser with teacher Cheryl Brighty trying to think of ways to raise money for her daughter Amy to travel to Peru.

Making handmade chocolates from scratch, Cheryl and Amy started selling their wares at local farmers markets, followed closely by hosting chocolate parties for children.

Obviously the adults didn’t want to miss out on all the fun, and soon there were bookings for chocolate parties for older clientele too. When Amy returned from her trip, the duo decided that chocolate was the career for them.

And now Artistry in Cocoa can even do chocolate hen parties at your chosen venue or your home.

Cheryl said: “Most hen parties go for the option of making something and have a little bit of fun. We do a couple of hours where we turn-up with some fruit-based creams, nuts, fruits, caramels, truffles and a lot of chocolate.

“The hens spend time shaping, combining, moulding, piping, cutting and tempering the chocolate and then they dip and decorate them how they want to. The chocolates are then wrapped in cellophane for them to take home.”

This type of party (for a maximum of 40 people) costs an average of £15 to £18 per person.

Other options include:

N A one-to-one session for smaller groups making centres, tempering, dipping and finishing the chocolates -£150 with lunch per person.

nA tasting session, with Cheryl making truffles and creams for you to try in any flavour you fancy.

nThe history of chocolate – discuss how chocolate is made, try drinking chocolate like the Aztecs did, grind cocoa beans, feel cocoa butter.

nLet Artistry in Cocoa help you to host a chocolate dinner party, perhaps of seven courses with chocolate in each.

nBook a wine and chocolate tasting evening, pairing good quality chocolate with fine wines.

Cheryl and Amy can even include extras such as painting with chocolate, chocolate massages and chocolate candles.

To put it simply – if you are a chocoholic, Artistry in Cocoa can help plan the perfect hen party for you.
