AWARD-WINNING wedding photographer Olga Becker is looking forward to a new era as she gets ready to walk down the aisle herself.

With her wedding fast approaching, the photographer is re-branding her business as White Orchid Photography, while offering the same bespoke packages and stylish images that she’s renowned for.

Olga has been passionate about photography since she was 10 years old, and has since worked in the portraiture, glamour and fashion worlds – including several photoshoots for B&G.

“I find that because I have so much experience in fashion photography I can bring that glamorous look to weddings,” she said.

“ Brides often say that my photographs stand out because they’re so different, so in a way I have my own niche. I concentrate very much on how the bride and groom feel about each other. My style is very versatile and suits the modern bride.”

Olga is a recommended photographer at Butley Priory and Woodhall Manor, she also photographs a lot of her weddings at Hintlesham Hall.

“I love working at Butley Priory,” Olga enthused. “It is my absolute favourite because it’s secluded and has fantastic architecture outside and inside. You can have the venue to yourself for your wedding day and the team at Butley Priory is so very friendly – they will go the extra mile to make the bride and groom happy.

“My favourite part of the wedding is when the bride and groom take their vows and, believe it or not, almost every time I have tears in my eyes. It’s a very emotional part, especially for me as I see the facial expressions and how the bride and groom relate to one another.

“My second favourite part is when I have a chance to take the bride and groom away from their family and friends, this is the time when I can be very creative.”

“What helps here is where they’ve had a pre-wedding session, when I have an opportunity to meet them well in advance for an hour’s session. They have a giggle, we do a bit of posing and it helps people get relaxed and put more trust in me on the wedding day, which allows me to achieve fantastic images. After the pre-wedding session I can also design unique wedding invitations using the images of the bride and groom”.

Another facet to Olga’s business is boudoir photography, with many brides choosing to have a session with the photographer before their big day to create an album to give to their groom.

“When a bride comes for a boudoir session she could bring her own lingerie, veil, shoes and jewellery, or could choose from my selection of props and lingerie.  I often suggest that a bride could bring something that belongs to her fiancee, such as his shirt or a tie.  The images we achieve are very sensual and romantic.  Having experience in fashion and glamour photography helps me very much, but the main advantage is that being a woman myself I look for the most flattering angles and poses.  It results not only in a fantastic gift for the groom but also boosts brides self esteem and confidence”.

All of Olga’s photography packages are completely bespoke and based on how many hours coverage you’d like, whether you want a pre-wedding shoot or boudoir photography included, and on the album you choose.

Albums are either traditional or digitally designed, with the photographer creating each album herself.

“Most of the albums I do are magazine-style storybooks and they are all very different. Because I am photographing the wedding and designing to the album I know what the couple want and I am thinking about their album design throughout the wedding.”
