Myrtle and Mint

IF YOU want to bring the sights and scents of an English country garden to your wedding, call Myrtle and Mint.

The shop, newly opened on trendy St Peter’s Street in Ipswich, is owned and run by florist Libby Pearson, who worked in two very reputable London florists before moving to the town and branching out on her own a year ago.

“The London shops were really creative and gave very good training in the particular style that I have, which really lends itself to weddings,” says Libby.

“In the shop I buy flowers that I love, which tend to be more blousy and girly, like hydrangeas, English sweetpeas, lavender, peonies, nigella and scented stocks.”

Throughout the summer months, Myrtle and Mint will stock lots of English flowers, grown just outside of Ipswich – ideal for brides wanting to use local produce on their wedding day.

Libby specialises in weddings, saying: “With weddings it’s lovely working with a bride to achieve something that she loves. A lot of bridal flowers are really pretty, and the end result is always gorgeous.”

Myrtle and Mint can provide all of your floral needs for your big day, from large pedestal arrangements to petals for tables, pomanders, buttonholes, chair back arrangements, and, of course, the bride’s bouquet.

A large variety of glassware is also available to hire, from vintage cut or coloured glass, to giant glass urns (which can be lined with leaves and arranged with flowers instead of pedestal arrangements), old French pickle jars, ceramic jugs and more.

Pop into the shop for an informal, friendly chat about your ideas and for a no obligation quote.

Find Myrtle and Mint at 32 St Peter’s Street, where the shop is open from 9.30am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday. Appointments are available on Mondays too.
