Based in Ipswich at Barrack Corner (with further salons at David Lloyd Gym and in the square at Martlesham Heath), the studio has been a family business for 26 years, with Sue and Ian Voller at the helm.

With a hair salon, beauty treatment rooms, gym and toning table area all based under one roof, S&I really does have everything you need to look fabulous at your wedding.

The topping off ceremony

Once you’ve got your dress on, the icing on the cake for your look is your hairstyle.

And whether you have short, curly or lavishly long locks, S&I’s team can give you the perfect style for your day.

Sue and Ian’s daughter Michelle (a stylist for 19 years) along with Fay and Nish, specialise in wedding up dos and are often called upon for fashion shoots, balls and other occasions too.

Visit S&I a couple of months before your wedding day to discuss your ideas. You might want to change your style or have a cut (which should be done 6 weeks in advance). You could make a statement by having a Goldwell colour applied. Or there is the option to extend shorter locks with Great Lengths hair extensions, as used by Girls Aloud and X Factor star Cheryl Cole.

These surprisingly natural additions are made from human hair and come in a massive range of colours, with highlights and lowlight sections available too/

Once you’ve decided on your cut, colour and hair length, the team will work with you to design a style that will give you the wow factor on your wedding day, taking into account your wedding theme, colour scheme, dress and many other factors.

Trials should take place about four to six weeks before the day at the salon ( £40 for one hour), while on the day the team can come to your venue to give you the finishing touch (at between £42 and £55).

S&I also creates wedding make-up looks using the ID Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals range.

Get trim and toned

As well as hair and beauty facilities, S&I boasts a gym and toning table area for ladies only, allowing you to combine every aspect of beauty and fitness for your wedding and beyond, in one place.

The bright gym includes everything you’d expect to help maintain fitness – a cross trainer, treadmills, bikes and rowing machines.

But even more popular are the toning tables, which provide users with a low impact, no cardio toning system that can help to trim and slim wobbly bits easily at only £6 a session.

There are eight tables in total, with users aiming to complete around eight minutes on each for optimum effect.

And although users feel relaxed after a session, the electronic machines are actually more intensive than a normal body toning regime.

Squeeze away flabby inner and outer thighs on one machine, raise and lower your legs on another to tone your stomach, and tone your waist, bottom and pelvic floor on the others.

This is a great system – you could even read a book and have a chat while you’re doing the exercises.
