Superhero shoes – part 2
I have now spent a week walking in my new Fitflops.
While I don’t feel like a size 10 supermodel yet, I have noticed a few little changes in my physique (if I could call it that) and stamina.
Ashamedly, not being good with toe posts on shoes (ie the bit that goes in-between your toes) I resorted to wearing plasters between my big toe and second toe this week to prevent rubbing.
I had found the Fitflops were cutting in a tad and blotchy red patches are not a good look.
But after a couple of days the toe-post had signicantly softened and I am now ‘sans plasters’.
Stupidly I spent a whole day wearing my new best buddies to the office and felt like I’d been on a marathon – albeit a slow one – during the day.
My muscles really felt like they’d been worked.
I have noticed that my calf muscles and the buttock area seem a little more toned this week despite me having gargantuan portions of dinner every night. And I have even started to feel a pulling effect on my abs after wearing the Fitflops – maybe they are starting to tone my rather flabby post-children tummy?
I don’t really know if I look any slimmer yet, but one thing I can vouch for is the increase in my stamina and in the strength in my feet.
I went for a slow jog one evening and while my foot-arch and calf muscles usually burn after a few minutes of this exercise, I had no problems this time. For now I am putting this down to the fact that my Fitflops are warming-up these muscles as I walk.
However, I might be proven wrong on my next exercising venture.
