WEDDING day budgets are so easy to spend. In fact, once most couples have chosen their venue, catering and ‘the dress’ there often isn’t much left to play with, especially when it comes to photography.

A real camera enthusiast, Nicholas first tried out photography as a hobby with a Pentax 30 years ago, progressing to digital 12 years ago when digital cameras started coming in from the states.

Progressing from there, he set himself up as an event photographer, covering golf tournaments, balls, proms and other activities.

Last year he was even asked to capture events at the prestigious DanceEast Bejewelled Ball at Trinity Park.

Alongside this, Nicholas also shoots weddings to any style couples would like, from traditional posed portraits on the day, to the relaxed and informal feel of reportage photography, with all packages bespoke created to the couple’s budget.

His best-selling package is £750, which includes his services for the whole day and an album complete with 50 pages of photography presented in photobook style.

If you haven’t got the time or patience to make your own favours, Nicholas has this covered too. On the day he is able to take pictures of you, making 6ins by 4ins prints to be left at each place setting for your guests as a memorable favour.

Talking about being a wedding photographer in Suffolk, Nicholas said: “I like working on the coast because you’ve got really nice backdrops with the sea – it’s a really nice contrast. I also love Leiston old abbey because there’s the tradition of the old building and the inside has just been refurbished which is wonderful.

“In my role I try and tell people you need to talk to other photographers and see who is best for you – go on your instincts. It’s their day and they’ve got to be at ease and comfortable with the person taking the photographs.”
