IPSWICH designer Jan King established GaiaMoon Bridal Designs, 5 years ago, to provide local brides with an exciting bespoke alternative to the standard range of headdresses and accessories available on the high street.

Having spent many years designing and creating theatrical headdresses and sparkling costumes she is known for creating unique, couture designs which perfectly compliment her customers chosen theme, vision and budget. Jan says “I firmly believe that your wedding day should be a day to cherish and every bride deserves to look and feel like a Goddess!”

Jan selects semi-precious gems, Swarovski crystals and pearls for each individual customer and although she does not have a portfolio of standard designs she is equally delighted to cater for those seeking a chic, understated look to those who wish for something more striking and dramatic.

“I have a keen interest in the elegance of the past and particularly relish the challenge of researching and recreating designs in the styles of yesteryear whilst adding a modern twist. The beauty of a bespoke design is it is individual to you, it provides an extremely personal memento of your special day to cherish forever – I can even incorporate a treasured family peace of jewellery to provide the traditional something old.” said Jan.

The relationship between bride and designer is vital – Jan offers a free design and consultation service which allows her to get to know the bride’s style, chosen colour scheme, fabrics, hair style, budget and any ideas that she has already formulated.

“As my designs are totally handmade I am able to create pieces which comfortably fit my customers – a great advantage over the widely available standard sized tiara and Alice bands which can be ill-fitting and uncomfortable. “The personalised design service ensures that I am able to pull together each element of the brides look and tie it together, ensuring that she and her party co-ordinate beautifully on the most important day of her life”.
