Deadline Extended to August 21st 2011!
9th June 2011 – The 2011 Tourism Awards are now open. We’re delighted to invite entries into the awards across a full range of categories ensuring that every business and organisation finds a suitable area where it can demonstrate real achievement.
Talking about the awards, Julian Evans, Director of Digital and Business Development at Archant was enthusiastic about the opportunities. “The Spring weather at the start of this season has given a welcome boost to many businesses across the county, but particularly along the coast. Tourism continues to be of key importance to the local economy and I know that Terry Hunt, the editor of the East Anglian Daily Times has pledged to give the positive aspects of tourism in the county a higher profile throughout the paper.”
“Choose Suffolk have played a key role in promoting tourism in the county over the last few years and we are delighted that they continue to act as the main sponsor to these awards in 2011. The support and wealth of practical experience that Choose Suffolk brings to the awards is invaluable.”
“This year due to changes at the regional level, there won’t be any regional awards in the East of England. However we have arranged with the new organisers of the national awards that all three shortlisted businesses in each category will be entered into the national awards, giving Suffolk up to 45 opportunities to win at the highest level. This year more than ever is the chance for businesses in our county to step up and show what a great place this is to visit.”
