Mrs Pollard picked up the Recruitment Company of the Year title, beating two other finalists in the category, Hales Group and P&S Personnel.
An experienced recruiter, she formed @Work in Ipswich almost three years ago and has quickly established the company as an innovative presence in the local recruitment industry.
Other awards went to Mediterranean Shipping Company (Best Apprenticeship Recruitment Programme), WS Training (Best Employer), Rebecca Roll, Hales Group (Best Manager), Karen Edgeway, Reed in Partnership (Best Recruitment Consultant), Sanctuary Personnel (Best Recruitment Process), Prime Appointments (Best Website), Sharon O’Mahony, P&S Personnel Services (Special Recognition Award), Papworth Trust (Recruitment Team), Ferdusi Ahmed, Reed in Partnership (Rising Star) The annual awards, hosted by Archant, publisher of titles including the East Anglian Daily Times and Evening Star, aim to recognise people whose contributions over the previous year have made a significant impact in the local recruitment sector. They are open to all companies based in Suffolk, or which recruit jobseekers into positions within the county, and this year attracted more entries than ever, proving that the awards have grown in stature and that people regard them as an excellent way to recognise staff for the contribution they make to business success.
The awards were judged by an experienced panel comprising David Gledhill, chief executive of Hutchison Ports (UK), Peter Funnell, chief executive of IDEA and president of Suffolk Chamber of Commerce, Clare Whight, managing director SOS HR, Michael Ladd, head of human resources at Adnams, and Hannah Breen, of human resources consultant Your Potential.
