Judges will be looking in particular at the following:

  • Using locally sourced produce
  • Offering a selection of menus, containing a variety of dishes, including balanced healthy options and dietary consideration
  • Presentation of food
  • Quality of beverages – in particular the selection and presentation of teas and coffees
  • Value for money
  • Providing a warm and friendly welcome which exceeds the expectation of the customers
  • Staff awareness of menus and as appropriate, an ability to explain the locality and choice of the ingredients
  • Meeting customer needs, both in the production of the food and in the service area
